Stop Notario Fraud
Report Notario Fraud so it does not happen to someone else
In much of the world, especially Latin America, notary publics are government attorneys. This is not so in the United States. In the US, a Notary verifies that your signature and name matches your identification card. In other words, they swear that YOU signed YOUR name. That is all. Moreover, they cannot charge you over $1.25 to do this. You can get your documents notarized at most post offices or at your bank, usually free of charge.
A Notario does not have any knowledge or expertise to help you with your immigration papers. Never trust a notary that tells you they specialize in immigration, they cannot represent you in immigration court or before USCIS. While many organizations provide legitimate and excellent immigration help, they will never advertise as or tell you that they are a Notary Public.
Do not leave your common sense at the door. No matter how much you want to fix your situation and no matter how much you want to believe that this will happen, if it sounds too good to be true than it probably is. Do not believe anyone who guarantees you a favorable outcome. Do not work with Notary Publics on your immigration Petition.
If you have been taken advantage of by a Notary Public, report that person so that they stop preying on your community.
